Okta Verify for Laptop Setup (Okta FastPass)
Overview
Okta FastPass is a faster and more secure way to log in to our systems. It uses the laptop version of the Okta Verify app (like the one you use on your phone) to authenticate, giving you passwordless access when logging into Okta.
Setting Up Okta Verify on Your Laptop
Step 1: Set up Okta Verify (laptop version) as a factor for your Okta Account
1. Open the Okta Verify app on your laptop (you'll find it in your applications menu or folder).
2. Click Get Started, then click Next.
-
The next screen should be preloaded with the correct new account URL, roivant.okta.com
3. From here, it will prompt you to log in as you normally would to Okta.
- You'll be redirected to a browser window for the login, and receive a Your identity is verified message once complete.
4. Next, you'll be given the option to use Touch ID or biometric authentication (optional) - select either Enable or Not now.
5. Once you see your account information (like in the screenshot below), you can close the window.
Step 2: Log in to Okta via browser to verify the setup
1. Log in to Okta (logout first if you are already logged in), then choose Use Okta FastPass as your security method to log in.
3. If you've enabled biometric authentication, you can touch the sensor to complete your login.
- If you have not enabled biometric authentication, you will be prompted to authenticate a different way, and can then click the Yes, it’s me button to complete the login process.
Step 3: Confirm Your Setup
If you click the Sign in with FastPass button from the Okta login page, and it takes you through to your dashboard - you're all set! If you didn't set up FastPass successfully, the system would take you over to the Okta Verify app to complete the setup. You can also open up the Okta Verify app on your laptop to confirm.
